• Operation Overlord - D-Day - e-Learning Experience

  Operation Overlord is an Instructional Learning artefact, designed and developed over a year long period, which aims to aid Key Stage 3 GCSE History students learn, with the aid of multimedia elements, about the Normandy Landings of 1944, carried out by the Allied Forces against Nazi Germany.

  Destination Football is a monthly digital and interactive Football Tourism and Travel Guide, which delivers advice relating to key travel areas such as health, transportation, crime, hotels, as well as more general tournament information, to football supporters strongly considering, or who have already booked to jet out to the imminent FIFA World Cup Football Tournament in South Africa 2010.

  The Malthouse Engineering Company Limited, based primarily in Oldbury, West Midlands, United Kingdom, is a family owned company, who have developed a renowned reputation for the specialised flame cutting steel service they provide. The company wanted to move the business forward firmly in to the 21st century and so I set about transforming their existing website.

• The Romans: Religion

  The Romans: Religion is an interactive learning CD-ROM I designed and made, which has a heavy focus on game play and harnesses multimedia elements such as images, music, text and sound effects to support the learning outcomes of my chosen subject of The Romans, which falls within the UK GCSE Key Stage 3 teaching syllabus of History.

• Flying The Nest

  This project built in Macromedia Director MX 2004 is a fully interactive magazine aimed at a target audience who are leaving home for the very first time; within the piece there is extensive video usage in an attempt to visually show the user certain life skills such as cooking, cleaning, money budgeting and the like.

  This fully functioning game requires logic and skill, as you play as two prisoners attempting to escape from a maximum security prison in Ohio, USA to Mexico; this was created in Macromedia Director MX 2004.

• Uncle Joes Texas Steakhouse Restaurant

  A dynamically driven PHP website which is linked to a MYSQL database, Uncle Joes is a fictional Texas Steakhouse restaurant website in which the owner can update, create and delete menu items and the user can register and book a table of their choosing. Also uses Flash.

Hello and welcome to my website, my name is Joel David Reed, a young, enthusiastic, 24 year-old freelance web and interactive media designer based in Telford, Shropshire, UK.
