Background: For my Interactive Authoring assessment I designed and then built a working prototype using Macromedia MX Director 2004, to convey an ‘interactive’ story, based upon my experiences of University life at the University of Wolverhampton.
The goals of my project are two very simple ones; firstly I want to give my user an insight in to what it’s like being a ‘Fresher’ at the University of Wolverhampton and what is to be expected of them in their first year and secondly I hope to give them a brief knowledge of myself as a person and what elements make me who I am.
After considering a number of different ideas for my visually driven piece of multimedia work, I decided to create a ‘Diary’ and within this book contains photographs. You will be able to click upon these photographs, which will relate to the sections of my University life which I have decided to cover; accommodation, study, social life, and you will be transported in to these photographs to explore the particular area in more substance.
For this project I made use of text, to connect directly with my user and instruct them, photos, to give them a visual platform to take in and digest what I am trying to show them and sound, to add to sections of my photographic journeys to give the user a feeling of realism.
